On 17 December, the University of Nottingham Ningbo China hosted an intelligent vehicle retrofitting competition focused on sustainable development, bringing creativity and technology together to address real world industry challenges.
The competition was hosted by the UNNC Regional Centre of Expertise Ningbo on Education for Sustainable Development (RCE Ningbo) and sponsored by smart Automobile Co., Ltd. Smart also donated a smart #5 electric vehicle to support students in sustainable vehicle retrofitting design and hands on technical practice.
The competition encouraged students to propose forward looking and feasible vehicle retrofitting solutions centred on green mobility and sustainable lifestyles, incorporating environmentally friendly materials and design, low carbon technologies, and improved energy efficiency. By exploring the integration of smart mobility and sustainable development, the event provided a platform for innovation grounded in real industry practice, promoted wider awareness of sustainability concepts, and fostered future-oriented green technology and innovation talent.
