16 September: The new Library of UNNC started its trial run and a soft opening ceremony was held. In attendance were special guest Mr. Chris Wood, Consul-General of British Consulate-General Shanghai, and UNNC President Yang Fujia, Provost Nick Miles, Madam Xu, Chair of UNNC Board, and Thomas Murphy, Chief Financial and Planning Officer.
Provost Nick Miles spoke at the ceremony: “I think that this new Library is a bricks-and-mortar demonstration of what UNNC does so well. That is, our student experience is paramount - nothing is more important to us than making our campus an inspiring, truly global learning environment – a unique place to study, work and live.”
President Yang also encouraged students to go to library to explore knowledge by themselves. “All the books, resources and services are ready here. This is the way we teach and learn. This requires both diligence and creativity.”
