On 16 April, the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) hosted the 2025 Summer Placement Programme agreement signing ceremony and Internship Fair. Nearly 70 high-quality employers—including Tencent, NIO, Decathlon, Siemens DISW, Bosch Power Tools, KPMG China, and Geely participated, providing over 1,400 jobs for UNNC’s students.

Melissa Wang, Siemens DISW, TA Head of GTM APAC, said: “Last November, we held our first employer presentation at UNNC, and we were impressed by the high quality of the students. Particularly noteworthy were their English skills, communication abilities, and career aspirations. Their openness, courage, and vitality are the qualities that we value most highly.”

Linda Gao, KPMG Partner, Ningbo, also remarked: “UNNC is a university with a strong international perspective. Its students demonstrated well-rounded competence that align closely with our recruitment needs. We look forward to even deeper collaborations with UNNC in areas such as talent cultivation and graduate employment.”

Nikky Xu, Tencent’s Campus Recruitment Manager, shared: “As Tencent continues to expand its global presence, we find that UNNC students’ international education background, strong language skills, and cross-cultural communication abilities are highly aligned with our future strategic goals.”

In addition to strengthening strategic partnerships with employers, UNNC also provides holistic and personalised career support to students, such as offering one-on-one career advice with professional consultants to guide students on their career paths and choices.

Chenhao Sun, a third-year student studying Finance and Accounting Management at UNNC, joined L’Oréal China as a Marketing and Digital Intern through the Summer Placement Programme last year. As early as his first year in UNNC, Chenhao actively participated in employer talks and campus recruitment events, which helped him gradually shaping his career direction. “Internships helped me step out of my comfort zone, build professional connections, and strengthen my ability to work under pressure,” he reflected. “More importantly, they helped me to discover my inner drive and passion.”
