The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) and Chengdu Westminster School (CWS) recently joined hands to improve the pedagogical education in China.
According to the agreement, UNNC will be delivering the Cambridge Professional Development Qualifications (PDQs) courses for CWS teachers. This is a further collaboration based on the long-standing collaboration between the two parties in teacher training and school consultancy.
Rodney Harris, the Founding Head Master of CWS is confident that this collaboration will ensure their teachers employ the latest evidence-based teaching methodologies.
He says, “We already engage separately with UNNC and with Cambridge International, and are now especially delighted to collaborate further through the provision of Cambridge PDQs by UNNC for CWS teachers. This is a unique opportunity to work together with two leading contributors to the training of teachers and the dissemination of pedagogical research. I look forward to a rewarding association.”
Cambridge PDQs are qualifications designed to help support and recognise teachers who engage in continuous professional development throughout their careers.
Awarded the status of PDQ Centre in early 2020, UNNC is the first in East Asia to be approved by Cambridge International to deliver PDQ courses fully online. The courses enable teachers across China to engage in professional development on a part-time basis without compromising their professional lives.
