The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) is delighted to announce two appointments to support the University’s vision to create a community without borders.

Christina Harcus – Director of Development
Christina Harcus will join UNNC as Director of Development from January 2021. Christina comes to UNNC from the University of Liverpool, where she is presently finishing up her role as Director of Development and Alumni Relations. Christina’s extensive fundraising leadership experience in higher education and non-profit sectors will be of great benefit. Christina will lead in initiating and implementing fundraising strategies with senior leadership and the Advisory Board to secure significant philanthropic support for the University’s priorities.
Christina said of her appointment: “I am thrilled and honoured to be UNNC first Director of Development and I am hugely excited to join the team in the new year. I look forward to making a valuable and worthy contribution to the life of the staff, student, alumni and research community of UNNC.”
Lei He – Deputy Director of Development
Lei He has been appointed as Deputy Director of Development at UNNC from October 2020. Lei is a highly skilled fundraising professional who has worked in the non-profit and higher education sectors. She brings her rich experience in managing relationships with high-net-worth-individuals, academic institutions, private sectors and different levels of government agencies. Working with Christina Harcus, Lei will be an active major gift fundraiser managing a portfolio of individual prospects and will lead in the identification and development of new fundraising opportunities.
Lei He said of her appointment: “I am so proud to join the UNNC family. This is a young and innovative international university. I look forward to working with leadership, colleagues, students, alumni and visionary philanthropists to shape the future of education.”
UNNC Provost Nick Miles expressed his delight at the appointments: “The appointments of Christina and Lei demonstrate our commitment to building and enhancing relationships with alumni, partners and communities across the world. They bring with them a wealth of leadership and fundraising experience that will prove invaluable to us and I look forward to working closely with them.”
