On 24 March, Haiying Wu, the Vice-President of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), held a workshop with her delegation at UNNC, discussing such core issues as how to support scientists, the development of female scientific leaders and how to enhance scientific research.

Professor Nick Miles, Provost of UNNC, said in his welcome speech: “It’s especially pleasing to welcome such a distinguished group of women, all working as academics and researchers in the fields of science and engineering.”

“One-third of our Science and Engineering students are female, and we are also proud of our female alumni who have gone on to be scientists and engineers. Inclusivity, Openness, Fairness and Respect are the core values of UNNC.”

Wu also met Yafen Xu, Chair of the UNNC Board and Professor Ping Cui, Associate Provost of UNNC and executive director of the CWST. She appreciated the University’s support for the event.

In her speech, Wu encouraged female scientists and researchers to dare to pursue their dreams and make their own contributions to science and technology development.
