Introduction to Analytical Modelling Techniques and Their Uses for Publications

Overview: This session aims at helping you master the basics of analytical modelling techniques that can be applied to make informed decisions in the domain of business management. Specifically, a classic, highly appraised, and well-cited research paper from Management Science (Chiang, Chhajed and Hess, 2003) will be used to explain step-by-step how to develop a game-theoretical model to make important marketing and operations management decisions. Subsequently, several other papers from prestigious journals will be reviewed briefly so that you can better understand some patterns of deploying such analytical models for publications. Finally, the speaker will organise a roundtable discussion to talk about her own PhD journey and engage the audiences to discuss their PhD challenges and share their experience and ideas.

Date: October 17, 2022
