Ningbo-Nottingham Head teachers Meeting

2018 Ningbo-Nottingham Head teachers Meeting was held in the morning of 23rd Oct.

During the meeting, Both Chinese and British delegations expressed their great attention on education and the Sino-British education cooperation, and made constructive suggestions for the education reform and innovation development. 

Ningbo and Nottingham established friendships in 2005 and became sister cities. In their speeches, the Chinese and British representatives expressed their desire to further promote the relationship between the two cities, expand the educational cooperation at more levels and seek more opportunities for exchange activities.

Xu Pingyuan, Deputy Director- general of Ningbo Affairs Office of Ningbo People’s Government said he wanted to establish an all-around cooperation with the British side in education, including primary and secondary schools and universities.

John Dexter, Director of Education at the Nottingham City Council, shared the standards and assessments of students ' academic study, health and well-being. He also mentioned the opportunities and resources that Nottingham can offer to Chinese students, such as the Nottingham City Council offers short-term internships for university students

Then goes the signing ceremony, 22 schools have become sister schools.

After the signing ceremony, the headmaster representatives of Chinese and British primary and secondary schools gave presentations on the theme of multi-evaluation mechanism and students’ all-round development. Delegates shared their schools' distinctive evaluation and assessment mechanisms and colorful extracurricular activities.

Before the meeting, the Nottingham headmasters’ delegation also visited the University of Nottingham Ningbo, China. Provost of UNNC, Chris Rudd participated in the reception, and introduced UNNC to the headmasters’ delegation. The Confucius Institute of UNNC had made a report on the delegation’s visit of UNNC for the last three years and looked forward to finding more opportunities for future cooperation during this year's visit.
