Today, UNNC students, staff and staff family members celebrated the Lantern Festival at UNNC MN Canteen. Given by the round shape of the sweet dumplings, this event aimed to reunion of students and staff after the winter break, meanwhile welcome new staff to join the UNNC family.

Professor Martin Lockett, Dean of Faculty of Business, welcomed all the participants, introduced the custom of the Lantern Festival amongst traditional Chinese people, even pointed out the Lantern Festival was a Chinese Valentine’s Day. His knowledge and passion about Chinese culture amazed the students and staff. After a light lunch, we made sweet dumplings together and lanterns together.

This event is jointly organized by Confucius Institute, Human Resources Department and Department of Campus Life. Wish everyone happy Lantern Festival!
