Chinese Bridge Spring Camp visited UNNC and Ningbo City
09 April 2025
On April 9th, 18 students from the Chinese Bridge Spring Camp visited the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) under the guidance from the Confucius Institute in Nottingham.
The event was co-hosted by the Nottingham Confucius Institute China Ningbo Branch and the Li Dak Sum Incubator, and supported by the Center for Language Exchange and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education and the Ningbo Foreign Affairs Office.
After the campus tour, the delegation participated in a Chinese painting workshop. This workshop was led by Mr. Li Qingyu, a nationally ranked first-class artist. Following a introduction to the foundational techniques of Chinese painting, the visitors enthusiastically immersed themselves in creating traditional Chinese artwork. Each participant painted orchids—symbolizing elegance and integrity—on decorative fans, gaining hands-on experience in this revered art form.
In the afternoon, the group visited the Ningbo Culture Plaza to celebrate the 10 anniversary of the Robin Hood statue from the UK. Following their visit to the Ningbo Youth Culture Center, the delegation proceeded to Tianyi Pavilion, renowned as the oldest private library in Asia. The group learned about the pavilion’s historic significance and its efforts to preserve invaluable literary and cultural artifacts. The tranquil atmosphere and rich history of Tianyi Pavilion made a lasting impression on the visitors.
Through these interactive activities and cultural immersion visits, the visitors gained profound insights into UNNC’s global education, leaving them deeply inspired.
