Chinese knot making workshop

07 November 2018

7 November 2018, the Nottingham Confucius Institute China Ningbo Branch organized a Chinese knot making activity to share Chinese culture in Room 312 Portland Building. 10 international students and staff participated the event.

During the activity, teachers from Confucius Institute introduced the cultural background and history of Chinese knot (zhōng guó jié) and showed the participants how to tie a nice Chinese knot. This event was greatly supported by the Mandarin Corner who selected Chinese student volunteers to help with the whole process. Besides making Chines knots, the student volunteer also showed the participants how to make bracelet.

This event is one of the component of UNNC CI’s Chinese Cultural Workshop series and echoes the ‘Cultural Excellency’ of NCI across the UK and China campuses. The other cultural workshop: Chinese Opera Mask Painting would be organized on 14 Nov. and welcome all to participate.
