In the process of learning and living at UNNC, Lucy also takes the initiative to enrich her knowledge. She interned in the Introduction to Chinese Language Research Group organised by the Teaching and Research Office for Chinese Culture, which is a course that introduces Chinese culture to foreign students. Assisting teachers in course managing and arranging the after-school courses is a practical experience for volunteers like Lucy to further understand cultural exchange and different expressions of communication. In addition, Lucy also took the X-Culture course offered by NUBS (China), which was attended by college students from many universities in China and abroad. Lucy said that through the course, she really gained an understanding of cultural differences, and that sincere communication and knowledge exchange is key to solving cultural differences.
During her first year summer holidays, Lucy participated in the Summer Seeding Programme and went to the island in nearby Xiangshan, Ningbo to teach young students. Together with fellow international students, the team curated a series of themed volunteer courses, including culture, geography, music, art, science, sports and more. She said 'As a university student, I hope that our time here can leave the children with a different experience and memories, while sowing the seeds of exploration in their hearts'.
