From August 18 to 22, 14 students from China Agricultural University visited the University of Nottingham Ningbo China to participate in this summer school for international literacy improvement, hosted by the Centre for English Language Education (CELE).
This summer school customized academic English courses closely related to their majors for the students from China Agricultural University. It guided them to explore academic presentation skills in depth, enabling them to express opinions confidently in academic exchanges and align with international standards. The summer school also offered specialized courses featuring emerging technologies and global perspectives. These courses helped students accurately grasp relevant professional terms and expression logic, and trained their ability to analyze problems and core facts in English.
Interactive workshops taught scientific research methods, comprehensively enhancing students' research literacy. Meanwhile, courses on artificial intelligence and other fields focused on cutting-edge technology, fostering cross-disciplinary innovative thinking.
The summer school also provided rich activities and practical experiences for the students. Visits to laboratories, enterprises and museums allowed them to form a three-dimensional understanding of scientific research in various fields at close range. They gained an in-depth understanding of industry trends and enterprise operation models, thus developing a deeper insight into work in different industries.
