Architecture Design Studio 1, as the main module of the course of qualifying year students1, is helping the freshman students experimenting design approaches by implementing multiple ways. Together with the ordinary in-studio lectures and tutorials which is a traditional way to implement architecture theories and design methodologies, students are encouraged to learn architecture by experimenting classic modern building on site and talk to the practitioners in practices in UK.
Activities 1: Cicheng Town Site Visit and Survey
Students are currently working on the project of community center based at Cicheng town, before the design, we visited the town and did survey on site，students were inspired by the Chinese traditional architecture.
Activities 3:The teaching teams are explaining principles and ideas of public building design by referring to UNNC library.
Activities 4: Students experimented Taizhou contemporary museum in a fieldtrip, they were empowered by the modern architecture languages and tried to implement what they learned from this building to their own designs.

Activities 5: Students from AA school were invited to share their projects and learning experiences online. More extra-curriculum activities are expected in future in Design Studio 1!
