Dr Sherif Welsen, an associate professor in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and the Head of the Science and Engineering Education (SEE) research group, has recently published an article in the Education Sciences journal. Dr Welsen has unveiled his remarkable findings in an article titled "Behavior of Science and Engineering Students to Digital Reading: Educational Disruption and Beyond".

In 2020 in response to the pandemic, Dr Welsen launched a study at UNNC investigating the attitude of engineering students to digital reading in a remote learning environment. Building upon this initial endeavor, his latest article explores an expanded research framework to tackle the educational disruptions experienced by Leeds Joint School in Chengdu. This remarkable article sheds light on the invaluable insights derived from the study. It sets the stage for international collaborations among prestigious institutions: the University of Nottingham Ningbo China and the University of Leeds. Moreover, it paves the way for a dynamic partnership between UNNC and SWJTU (Southwest Jiaotong University) in Chengdu, fostering synergy on a national level.

The outcomes have significant implications for student and educator training, educational policymakers, and the design and use of educational learning technologies. As such, the article provides recommendations that could benefit higher education teaching and learning authorities and shape the future of science and engineering education.
