UNNC becomes only the third institution outside of the UK to have received full BALEAP accreditation with certification of CELE's Semester 2 EAP modules

After achieving BALEAP accreditation for Semester 1 modules in 2023, CELE is proud to share that following a visit from the Accreditation Team in summer 2025, Semester 2 modules English in Specific Academic Contexts A, English in Specific Academic Contexts B and Oral Communications Skills B have now also been accredited.

The British Association of Lecturers in English for Academic Purposes (BALEAP) supports the professional development of those involved in learning, teaching, scholarship and research in English for Academic Purposes (EAP), and has been accrediting courses and institutions since 1991 through the BALEAP accreditation scheme (BAS).

The broad aim of BAS is to establish and sustain the standards required of specialist EAP provision in whatever context it exists, in order to enhance best practice across diverse education contexts and academic communities. The scheme is designed for any provider which prepares students or staff for successful academic study, teaching or research in higher education institutions. It is open to higher education institutions, further education institutions, language schools and international study centres anywhere in the world.

This second accreditation confirms CELE’s ongoing dedication to best practice and continuous improvement of module and teaching quality. Accreditation also means that UNNC becomes an institutional member of BALEAP.
