On October 11th, the conference of School of Computer Science, Faculty of Science and Engineering, UNNC and Baidu company was held in PMB conference room. Baidu Cloud chief data scientist Dr. Zhiyong Zhang, Hongquan Wang and related personnel, UNNC Vice-Provost for Teaching and Learning Prof. Uwe Aickelin, FoSE Vice-Dean for Research and Knowledge Exchange, Deputy Head of Computer Science Prof. Ruibin Bai and representative academics from CS attended this conference.

At the symposium, Prof. Aickelin introduced the general background of University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China. He hoped that the cooperation between two sides could stimulate innovation, achieve a better scientific research integration between university and enterprise.

Dr. Zhiyong Shen presented the development strategy of Baidu AI, Baidu Cloud ABC strategy and Baidu AI technology and application. He spoke highly of the scientific research strength of Computer Science at UNNC, and believed that its research direction fits well with Baidu’s development strategy.

Prof. Ruibin Bai introduced the talent cultivation, scientific research and cooperation of Computer Science school of FoSE. In his speech, he hoped that in the future, the two sides could taking more active and effective measures, deepening technical cooperation and accelerating the knowledge exchange, driving innovation development and strengthening the platform construction, sharing advantageous resources and promoting talent cultivation to achieve mutual benefit.

After the meeting, attendees enjoyed the Campus Tour and had lunch together.
