The 12th Bridge Design Competition was organized by the Science & Engineering Student Association (SESA) and the Institution of Civil Engineers Student Chapter (ICE) on December 15th. Groups, ranging from three to five participants from various majors, had designed and built their own bridges using wood sticks, hot glue, paper, and string. Participants also developed a portfolio and presentation outlining their design concepts. Additionally, their bridge models were tested on the day of the competition.

This program was intended to engage students from Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) majors to address real-world problems and inspire them to hands-on competitions. During the Bridge competition, students were able to apply science to the engineering design process - a series of steps used by real engineers to come up with solutions to problems. Among the participants, we have seen both modern bridges and future bridges being built by participants. This is not simply the clash of science and engineering concepts, but also the integration of innovations and art.
