Entry requirements

Entry requirements for our programmes vary depending on your school qualifications, which determine your entry into either the preliminary year (Year 1) or qualifying year (Year 2). Please visit here for more detailed information.

*Entry for Mainland Chinese students is through the National Higher Education Entrance Examination, commonly known as Gaokao.

Course overview

This course provides a comprehensive undergraduate education in finance and accounting, coupled with a fully integrated understanding of the theory and practice of management in different organisations. In particular, the degree provides a strong interdisciplinary core of material in accounting and finance theory and practice, focusing on the modern firm and its financial environment.

The program has been accepted into the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program. The curriculum of our program incorporates a significant portion of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK), is closely tied to the practice of investment management, and is helpful to students preparing for the CFA Program exams.

Special features

  • Detailed knowledge of finance, accounting and management concepts and the skills to independently apply them to business issues;
  • A firm foundation for a successful career in a range of business areas, or for further study and research;
  • Exemptions from professional accounting certification and associations such as the ACCA and ICAEW.

Course structure

The degree is offered as a three or four-year programme depending on your entry qualification.

  • For domestic students, the course structure follows the Chinese higher education system and is based on a four-year program.
  • For international students, with relevant qualifications, the course structure follows the UK higher education system and is based on a three-year program.

Accreditations

This course works closely with professional accounting associations. Graduates of this degree can obtain exemptions from certain papers within the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Professional Examination Scheme, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) Certificate Level, Certified Practising Accountant (CPA Australia) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Certificate in Business Accounting.

Graduates who hold other degrees from Nottingham University Business School China are also eligible for exemption from certain papers with these professional accounting institutions if they complete the required modules.

The preliminary year is designed to help you develop your English language skills so that you can make the most of your degree programme.

This special English language programme designed by the English for Academic Purposes experts at the University's Centre for English Language Education is carefully integrated with academic content modules so that you are prepared fully for years two to four of your degree programme.

  • This year is not compulsory for students with appropriate qualifications for year two entry.
