    Smart Resilient Strategies and Sustainability Assessment for Future Communities 2022

This Conference aims to put together an up-to-date collection of cutting-edge recent focused on smart resilient strategies and sustainability assessment for future communities. Sustainable cities and communities continuously target research areas that include socio-economic and environmental transformations, sustainability assessment, and smart-resilient interventions. Specific areas highlight key directions in sustainable urbanism, sustainability transitions, and responding to the climate change crises. The ongoing pandemic also helps us to identify smart strategies that could enhance the resilience and sustainability of our cities and urban systems.

To address these matters, we invite abstracts that explore any of the following 5 sub-themes:

(1) Sustainability assessment and indicator development,

(2) Integrated information-based cities,

(3) ICT for smart resilient cities,

(4) Sustainable and resilient strategies for the urban environment, and

(5) Campus sustainability

We encourage scholars and practitioners to submit original research contributions including, but not limited to, the following:

Sustainability assessment and indicator development,

  • Development of sustainability assessment frameworks and case study examples;
  • Sustainable indicator systems for buildings communities and cities;

  • Health and Well-being, Sustainability assessment methods and smart solutions for future communities.

Integrated information-based cities,

  • Integrated urban systems for sustainable cities;
  • Integrated urban planning and design strategies using information-based methods’
  • Information-based solutions for smart and resilient cities;

ICT for smart resilient cities,

  • New approaches of ICT use in achieving smart resilient cities;
  • Review of ICT-mediated platforms and their integration in achieving urban sustainability;
  • Enhancing urban resilience to respond to climate change issues;

Sustainable and resilient strategies for the urban environment

  • Urban resilience for healthier communities and cities;
  • Urban health studies in regards to ageing population and vulnerable communities;
  • Intelligent and information-based systems for smart resilient cities;
  • Urban environment analysis for future communities;

Campus sustainability

  • Development of frameworks for campus sustainability tools;
  • Health and Well-being, Sustainability assessment methods and smart solutions for future campuses.

Supporting journals/publisher

Selected Authors 6- 8 page extended abstract will be considered for publication in a conference proceeding book by Springer Nature.

Also, Potential of Full paper publication in a special issue focused on Smart Resilient Strategies and Sustainability Assessment for Future Communities by either Elsevier’s city and environment interactions, MDPI’s Smart Cities, or MDPI’s Sustainability. More information on special issue full paper submission will be provided by October 2021

Program - The conference program will include parallel streams of oral sessions and panels, supplemented by poster sessions. The 2021 program will be available at a later date.

Smart Resilient Strategies and Sustainability Assessment for Future Communities 2021 will be a truly interdisciplinary event and provides an excellent opportunity to meet scientific contacts and initiate new collaborations at academic and industrial levels.
