University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) Mobility Scholarships

This scholarship will be awarded to exchange and study abroad students (not including Nottingham UK and Malaysia campuses). We are happy to announce a total of  500,000 RMB of scholarship funds to all incoming students. Successful applicants will automatically be selected by academic performance at their home universities and this scholarship will be awarded to approximately 50% of all applicants. The successful applicant will be awarded a one-off payment of  6,000 RMB each. This scholarship will be paid into students' bank accounts one month after registration day each semester. All candidates will be issued a scholarship certificate.

Eligibility                                                                           

  • Candidates must be from outside of mainland China (including Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan) and hold a valid passport or ID from that country or region.
  • Candidates must be full-time applicants who apply for the UNNC mobility programme.
  • Candidates should demonstrate high levels of academic performance.
  • Candidates should be nominated by their home institutions/agents.

How to apply

Once we receive the official nomination information from your home university, we will work with your home university to select the nominee based on academic performance at your home university and release the awarded results to successful applicants one month after they successfully registered at UNNC.

Ningbo International Student Government Scholarships for Exchange Students

Approximately 5% of exchange students can be awarded places. The winner will be awarded a one-off payment of  3,000 RMB per semester. Students will be informed of scholarship information and quota by Global Engagement Office after you successfully registered at UNNC. 

Eligibility

  •  Candidates must be a foreign citizen and hold a foreign passport (except HK, Macao & Taiwan).
  •  Candidates must be full-time applicants who apply for the UNNC international exchange programme
  •  Candidates should demonstrate high levels of academic performance.

How to apply

Students who would like to apply for this scholarship will need to prepare the following documents and submit to UNNC Global Engagement Office together with their exchange programme application form:

  • Application form
  • Personal statement (500 words)
  • Most recent academic transcript

Candidates will be selected based on their academic performance and students will be nominated within one month after registration day each semester. This scholarship will be paid into students' account after nomination. All candidates will be issued a scholarship certificate.

Application deadline: 10 September 2023 ( for september intake)  19 February 2024 (for spring intake)

Ningbo Government Scholarship for Non-degree Students from HMT Area

Ningbo government offers non-degree students from Hongkong, Macao and Taiwan a scholarship up to RMB 6,000 each. 

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be a HMT applicant who has submitted the application.
  • Merit-based selection based on outstanding academic achievement and personal statement.

University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) Global Ambassador Award

The Global Ambassador Award is to recognize the contribution of incoming exchange students from UNNC global partners who actively engage with Global Engagement Office in promoting UNNC exchange, PGT and PGR programme to their fellow students in their home universities and home countries. Successful applicants will be offered 5,000 RMB each for their exchange study period at UNNC. 

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be able to meet the required level of promotion of UNNC exchange/PGR/PGT programme to your fellow students in your home university via social media, exchange fair, webinar etc., plus any additional volunteering in GEO-related projects;
  • Have a strong desire and commitment to help UNNC GEO to improve service for incoming exchange students
  • Have excellent communication and organizational skills;
  • Have a desire to work and interact with GEO and the student community and help UNNC outgoing exchange students to understand your home country and university;
  • Lead on and coordinate new projects alongside GEO colleagues, which could involve social media, video shooting, proof reading, translating etc.
  • Be willing to share your email address and desire to advise and help answering any email enquiries for future exchange students from your home university to UNNC.
