Professor Ruibin Bai holds BSc and MSc degrees from Northwestern Polytechnic University and a PhD from The University of Nottingham. He joined The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) in 2007 as a lecturer after spending two years as a postdoctoral research fellow at The University of Nottingham. He got promoted to an associate professor in 2011.

Dr John Cartlidge has a first class BSc (Hons) in Artificial Intelligence & Mathematics (University of Leeds, UK, 2000) and a
PhD in Artificial Intelligence (University of Leeds, UK, 2004; supervised by Professor Seth Bullock). After successfully defending his PhD thesis on evolutionary adaptation in competitive computer systems, Dr Cartlidge spent four years in industry working on a variety of commercial research projects.

He then moved to Ningbo to assist in the start-up of the then new Division of Computer Science at The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC). The main focus of his four years there was the teaching of programming to entry-level undergraduates, and later also developing and teaching content for foundation-level students.

the School of Computer Science and Prof. Mike Jackson in the Nottingham Geospatial Institute. Before joining UNNC, Heshan was a research fellow in the AI group led by Prof. Anthony Cohn at the University of Leeds.

Tie-Yan Liu is a senior researcher and research manager at Microsoft Research Asia. His research interests include machine learning (learning to rank, online learning, deep learning, and statistical learning theory), information retrieval, and algorithmic game theory. He is well known for his pioneer work on learning to rank for information retrieval.
