Research ethics

Terms of Reference

To establish the University of Nottingham Ningbo China's (UNNC) process and procedures for providing ethical review 

  • To ensure and monitor best practice of research ethics across UNNC 
  • To provide quality assurance of the process and procedures for providing ethical review at UNNC
  • To advise and support the UNNC Research Committee on research ethics
  • To liaise with the University of Nottingham’s Ethics Committee and with the ethics representative/committee at the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (UNMC)

Terms of Office

The subcommittee consists of representatives from all academic Schools and Divisions at UNNC, though divisions are entitled to ask delegates from other schools in their Faculty to represent them. Ethics representatives are to be nominated by Heads of Schools and Departments. In addition, there will be a Chair of the subcommittee and a non-academic, lay member. The UNNC Research Office will provide administrative and secretarial support and will also serve as a contact point for research participants in addition to the project leader or supervisor.
