Short Bio

Dr Sherif Welsen is an associate professor in electrical and electronic engineering, Faculty of Science and Engineering, the University of Nottingham Ningbo China. He is the founder and director of the Science and Engineering Education research group. He’s the faculty senior tutor, faculty research ethics officer, and External Examiner (Advance HE). Dr Welsen had a number of important roles in teaching and learning leadership including, the faculty deputy director of T&L, faculty director of T&L, chair or the faculty teaching board, chair of the faculty teaching and learning committee. He is a member of the campus student life committee, campus research ethics committee, and previously a member of the campus teaching committee and tri-campus quality and standards committee. He had a number of teaching, learning, pedagogical initiatives including the faculty international student forum, science and engineering education annual symposium, and coaching in higher education project. Dr. Welsen is a recipient of the Lord Dearing Award in recognition of his outstanding achievements in enhancing the student learning experience. His research interests include wireless sensor networks, embedded systems, error control coding, digital circuit design, and engineering education.
