Natural Resources and Environment
China’s environmental crisis is one of the most pressing challenges to emerge from the country’s rapid urbanization and industrialization. Natural Resources and Environment Research Group (NRERG) was established to be devoted to promoting experimental, theoretical and empirical research on multiple environmental media including air, water and soil, etc. and resource conservation and recycling. NRERG makes constant efforts to develop itself into a key research base in the above-mentioned areas regionally, nationally and internationally.
The NRERG is a very interdisciplinary research group with academic members from diverse disciplines at UNNC, including chemical and environmental engineering, civil engineering, and geographical sciences. The group comprises of internationally recognized researchers in a variety of environmental related areas. Our main goal is to offer scientific and engineering solutions to all these environmental challenges that are jeopardizing China’s sustainable development as well as to provide policy-making support, guidance and consultation.

Air Quality and Pollution Control, Urban Climate Change, Carbon Neutral Practices & Technologies, Water Quality and Wastewater Treatment, Aquatic Resource and Soil Management, Solid Waste Recycling/Treatment/Management, Natural Medicine Resources, etc.
Research Achievements
For the past five years (as of Nov. 2020), NRERG managed to publish around 200 SCI papers, most of which appear on SJR Q1 journals; besides, all the members have made tremendous efforts to bring in research grants totalling over 10 million RMB from a variety of research councils including Chinese MoST, NSFC, Zhejiang Provincial Department of Sci. & Tech, local municipal Bureau of Sci. & Tech, international organisations and industrial partners.
