The event was hosted by Dr Boon Giin Lee, Associate Professor and FoSE PGR Committee member. Professor Giampaolo Buticchi, Interim Vice Provost for Research and Knowledge Exchange delivered the opening speech.

The Research Showcase exhibited 153 posters from the PhD students in FoSE, covering a wide range of research fields and showcasing the latest achievements and progress of PhD students. The participating students actively engaged with visitors, sharing their research experiences and insights. a review panel consisting of 11 academic staff evaluated the posters onsite.

The event also included a discussion forum themed "Publishing with AI," which brought together five prestigious academics as the panelists, including Professor Jon Garibaldi, Provost of UNNC; IEEE Fellow, Professor Juan J. Rodriguez-Andina from University of Vigo; Professor Sean He from UNNC; Professor Linlin Shen from Shenzhen University; and Roser Cervera from UNNC. The forum yielded rich outcomes, providing students with new perspectives through the experts' insights, highlighting the potential of AI technology in enhancing research efficiency and quality. Through this forum, students also learned how to effectively utilize AI technology to improve their research work during the process of academic writing and publishing.

In the closing ceremony, Professor Xu Sun, Interim Associate Dean for Research and Knowledge Exchange of FoSE, delivered the speech. She thanked everyone for their active participation and acknowledged the research achievements of the participating PhD students. She encouraged everyone to continue forging ahead on the path of research, constantly breaking through the boundaries of knowledge, and contributing their strength to the research development. Then the 20 "Best Poster Awards" were presented by Professor Juan J. Rodriguez-Andina, Professor Giampaolo Buticchi and Professor Xu Sun.
