Dr Alim Beveridge studies the extraordinary commitment by organisations to make positive impact on society and environment. In one of his co-published papers, he examines an initiative by Starbucks to address race-based inequality and discrimination in the United States, specifically what sparked the initiative, and how the CEO tried to mobilise a company-wide response. In another project, he examines the Benefit Corporation movement and its focus on supporting the creation of an “Inclusive Economy”. His research shows why and how companies become committed to addressing inequality.
