Centre for Research in Applied Linguistics (CRAL)

 

The Centre for Research in Applied Linguistics (CRAL) has been established as a branch of CRAL in Nottingham, UK. CRAL is an interdisciplinary research centre dedicated to the description and understanding of language as it is acquired and used in the real world.  Areas of current interest include corpus-based language enquiry, spoken English, interfaces of language and literature, second language pedagogy, English for academic purposes, discourse and stylistics, issues of language standardisation and world literature.

Conference

on 26th and 27th June, 2009, UNNC hosted its First Postgraduate Applied Linguistics Conference . Organized by the Division of English Studies/Centre for Research in Applied Linguistics, the conference aims at providing a platform for postgraduate students to present their applied linguistics research work for review and feedback from peers and experts in a friendly, supportive and intellectually stimulating environment. With the participation of leading Chinese and British academics, conference participants also had the opportunity to hear experts discuss their past and current projects.
