Richard joined CELE in February 2025 after working in the Faculty of Science and Engineering at UNNC since September 2017. Before UNNC, Richard worked at Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María (Valparaíso, Chile), Rice University (Houston, USA) and the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow, UK).

Richard is currently teaching Year 1 students. In his previous role, he taught Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4 students.
