The aim of this session is to welcome new students to the University and introduce the Library, including expert librarians, NUsearch and e-text books. Through this session, students could understand that research at University begins with a question that directs the act of finding information through the Library; appreciate that research inquiry includes discovery, serendipity, and searching to identify relevant Library sources; and, develop basic techniques in finding research resources and simple search strategies to enable effective access to information.

By the end of the session, participants should be able to:

• find the Library on the University of Nottingham Ningbo China campus, and know where to go for help in finding information;
• understand that the Library is physical and digital, with most resources accessible online through NUsearch;
• And feel confidence in basic techniques to find information, including through: the online learning environment, Moodle, and e-textbooks.
