1) MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION CRITERIA
Ensure your conference paper adheres to the following guidelines:
1.1 Originality:
Confirm the work's scientific rigour, accuracy, novelty, and significant additional content over previously published material. Demonstrate its value.
1.1.1 Plagiarism:
All submissions must be original and not previously published. Any plagiarism will be addressed according to the IET Policy on Plagiarism, Copyright Infringement, and Moral Rights Infringement.
1.1.2 Multiple Submissions:
The IET prohibits simultaneous review submissions for other conferences or publications. Papers found in breach will be rejected.
1.2 Relevance:
Ensure the material fits the conference's scope.
1.3 Clarity:
Papers must be written in clear, well-constructed English. Poor English may impact the paper's acceptance.
2) MANUSCRIPT PRESENTATION
2.1 Length:
Full papers should not exceed 6 A4 pages. Accepted papers must adhere to the 2-column IET template (MS word, Latex) and are limited to 6 pages (7 with an over-length charge). PDF submissions should be in version 1.4 (Acrobat 5) with embedded subset fonts.
2.2 Format:
Use Times, Times Roman, Times New Roman, or Symbol fonts. Text should be 10 pt, headings 12 pt, subheadings 11 pt, and the title 18 pt. Title must be in capitals and centred. Text should be arranged in two justified columns, each 8.8 cm wide, with a 0.4 cm margin in between.
2.3 Author Affiliations:
List immediately after the title. For multiple authors, include full postal and email addresses, linking authors to addresses where necessary.
2.4 Language, Spelling, and Grammar:
Papers must be in UK English. Non-native speakers should seek English-speaking colleagues' help. Papers not meeting literacy standards may be declined.
2.5 Abstract:
Limit to 200 words. It should be informative, self-contained, and suitable for direct inclusion in abstracting services. Avoid figure numbers, table numbers, references, and mathematical expressions.
2.6 Keywords:
List up to five keywords before the abstract.
2.7 Figures and Captions:
Refer to figures in numerical order, embed them in the text, and provide captions.
2.8 Tables:
Reference and embed tables numerically in the text with captions underneath.
2.9 Mathematics and Equations:
Ensure clarity between similar characters (e.g., 'l' and '1').
Equations must fit a two-column format, be numbered consecutively, and referred to numerically.
Use bold italics for vectors and matrices, italics for variables.
Clarify superscripts and subscripts, use superscript notation for exponential expressions, and avoid using a dot for multiplication.
Reference equations with round brackets.
2.10 Acknowledgments:
Describe grants, financial aid, or other assistance in this section.
2.11 References:
Use the Vancouver (numerical) system. Ensure all references are cited in text and vice versa. Include comprehensive information for each reference. Exclude references for unaccepted papers; accepted ones can be included with full details.
2.12 Reference Examples: (Provided)
3) POST-PRINT POLICY
3.1 Authors may post their papers on non-commercial servers or websites, with the condition:
The paper is a post-print version, not the IET PDF.
The following statement appears on the front page: "This paper is a post-print of a paper submitted to and accepted for publication in Conference Proceedings of the International Conference on Internet of Things 20204 (ICIoT 2024) and is subject to Institution of Engineering and Technology Copyright. A copy of the record is available at the IET Digital Library."
The post-print is not uploaded before IET publication, and any preprint versions are removed.
4) COPYRIGHT
4.1 Each paper must be accompanied by a signed copyright form.
4.2 Copyright is held by the IET, unless it falls under "United Kingdom Crown copyright" or "a work of the US Government in the Public Domain."
4.3 Authors must ensure they have the right to publish the paper, and it contains nothing defamatory. All co-authors are assumed to have agreed to the submission.
5) PERMISSION TO REPRODUCE
5.1 Authors must obtain permission to reproduce any previously published material and credit the source.
