Appointments can be made within the opening hours:
Monday – Friday
9am—12:30 pm and 2pm—5pm.
Please note we do not offer counselling appointments after hours or during the weekend.

How does our appointment system run?
First meeting
When you first contact the service you will be offered an initial appointment, which will last 30 or 60 minutes. The purpose of this appointment is for you to tell the counsellor about your problem(s) and for you and the counsellor to discuss if and how counselling might help. At the end of this meeting, you and the counsellor will agree the type of work you will do, the number of sessions you will have and the date and time of your next session. This session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions about anything you are not sure of.
What next?
If you and the counsellor decide together that on-going counselling would be helpful, then further appointments will be offered to you. Counselling appointments are normally for 50 mins and, where possible, will be arranged to fit in with your timetable. During very busy times in the academic year, when the demand for the service is high, you may need to wait for regular counselling to begin.

If you face the front door of Portland Building with Starbucks on your right hand, please enter the building and then make a left turn. You will find the stairs, come to third floor and walk straight you'll find the waiting room 324 is on the right side.
