School of Aerospace
The aviation industry is a huge and diverse one, employing engineers across multiple disciplines. The BEng (Hons) Aerospace Engineering (2+2, 4+0) degree prepares students for a career in the industry by providing knowledge on how aircraft are designed, constructed, powered, used, and controlled for safe operation. The students also develop skills in management, airworthiness and aviation regulations through many additional courses. As an aerospace engineer, you could work in the design and manufacture of civil and military aircraft. You could also work in the technical departments of airlines.
We produce industry-ready graduates who have skills required by employers and that are relevant to the advancement of knowledge and technology for the aerospace industry. Our modules provide a balance of fundamental principles and applications, engineering practice and design elements.
Students are taught through a combination of lectures, design classes, tutorials, experiments, field trips, coursework and team projects. Our professional training programme, coupled with interactive and practical learning methods, ensure that our graduates are fully equipped with essential and desirable skills required to work at local and global aviation companies, as well as for further education at leading universities.
