The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) is delighted to announce the opening of a new climbing wall inside the Sir Colin Campbell Sports Centre on campus.
Named in honour the late British mountaineer and author Peter Boardman, a University of Nottingham alumnus, the climbing wall comes in two parts. The two smaller “training” sections are 4m in height, with the main climbing section reaching up to 15.6m high.
The University selected a wall by the market leader Entre Prises, producers of the first commercially marketed climbing wall in the world.
The Peter Boardman climbing wall was officially opened by UNNC Provost Chris Rudd at a ceremony on 2 July, during the University’s student graduation weekend. It will be available for all UNNC students and staff to enjoy, as long as they follow the strict guidelines set out by the Sport Centre staff.
