UNNC team reach summit of Mount Haba
In July, an eleven-person team of UNNC students and staff travelled to Yunnan Province in an attempt to reach the summit of Mount Haba. Accompanied by professional mountain guides, the adventurous group - including UNNC students Erfan Wang and Xingying Chen - took several days to reach the top of the snow-capped mountain.
Mount Haba rises 5,396 metres above sea level and is located close to the Tiger Leaping Gorge in Shangri-La. The types of environment on Mount Haba are varied, and include crossing muddy areas on a mule and snow climbing using ice axes.
