The University of Nottingham and the prestigious V&A Museum are launching two Masterclasses for Museum Professionals. Each three-day masterclasses will take place at The University of Nottingham Ningbo China from 8th-10th December 2015. The two masterclasses have been designed by V&A experts, in consultation with The University of Nottingham academics, to ensure that the training combines the right balance of theory and practice. They will combine lectures, workshops, case studies and ‘action learning’ (an approach that helps you to develop a concrete plan for your own practice) delivered by representatives from both institutions. The training will be supported by simultaneous interpretation for each non-native Chinese presenter.
These masterclasses have been developed as part of the UK-China Year of Cultural Exchange and have benefited from the support of the Department of Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS- a UK Government department). This has enabled us to offer these masterclasses at a lower price than usual for the 2015 session (3,700 RMB). The cost of each masterclass in the future will be around 12,500 RMB per student/per masterclass.
These Masterclasses will be followed by further creative industry events in 2016, which will include further training opportunities in digital engagement and new media, commercialisation, and intercultural communication for the museums sector. There will also be opportunities to visit the UK and learn from the UK creative industries directly.
To register to take part in this opportunity to learn from leading UK museums experts in a uniquely British learning environment, please email firstname.lastname@example.org by November 30th 2015.
We look forward to you joining us in December!
