Description

The International Summer School 2014 at The University of Nottingham Ningbo China will run from 22 June to 4 July 2014. Titled ‘Understanding the Rise of China’, the two-week programme aims to provide an overview of the rapid transformation going on in contemporary China through courses on China’s political system, economic reform and development, media and popular culture, population and ethnic minorities, the role of religion, rural China, China’s relationship with the world, and the challenges China faces for further development. Students will also participate in traditional Chinese cultural activities like Taiji, calligraphy and painting, in addition to going on field trips to Hangzhou and Shanghai, where they have the opportunity to explore the world’s famous scenic spots in parallel with the rich, fast-changing faces of modern Chinese cities.
