Organised by The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC)'s School of English, as part of The Bookworm Literary Festival, a yearly international literary festival held in various cities across China, a host of critically acclaimed writers from all over the world will come to UNNC to take part in a series of public talks.

Francesca Rydderech's short stories have been published in magazines and anthologies and broadcast on BBC radio. Her debut novel, The Rice Paper Diaries, was published in May 2013. The novel is set in Hong Kong and Wales during World War Two and gives an insight into the internment of British people in Hong Kong during the 1940s.

  Alexandra-Buchler

From the Czech Republic, Alexandra Büchler is the Director of Literature Across Frontiers, a network of partner organisations to advance European cultural exchange in the field of literature and translation. A translator and editor of numerous publications, she has worked as cultural manager for more than 25 years.

Francesca will talk about her work and both participants will discuss the state of European literature in general.

The event is free of charge and there is no need to book.
