The School of Education at UNNC is a truly global school, with branches at the University of Nottingham in the UK and also at the University of Nottingham Malaysia.
Compared with our giant UK counterpart, which is one of the largest education departments in the UK, the School of Education at UNNC is still relatively small in size. We do, however, have several world-leading scholars/professors among our staff, and the School currently supports over 70 doctoral students, together with some 80-85 Masters students (2017-2018 recruitment statistics). It is, therefore, one of the largest schools of education in the region in terms of doctorate/MA candidates. Our Professional Doctorate in Education programme (EdD), MA in International Higher Education (MA IHE) and MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (MA TESOL) have established an excellent reputation, and attract both newer and more experienced professionals both from within China and internationally. In addition to these taught programmes, we welcome traditional PhD students who may be interested in pursuing independent doctoral research in the areas of International Education; Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages; Teaching English for Academic or Specific Purposes and Tri-Lingual Education.
We also provide bespoke short-training courses, nationally and internationally for school leaders or principals, and university or school teachers. Most of the now hundreds of teachers and school leaders that we have trained were sponsored by education bureaus and government organisations such as the Chaoyang Education Bureau in Beijing and the UK government. We welcome queries for short-course training from all education authorities.
On behalf of all our staff, I warmly welcome you to our school!
