Ten school headmasters from Nottingham visited Ningbo

On November 15th, 2016, a delegation of ten school headmasters from Nottingham visited Ningbo. They are from Nottingham University Academy of Science and Technology, Middleton Primary School, Southwold Primary School, Robin Hood Primary School and so on. The trip was organized by Nottingham Confucius Institute, and supported by Nottingham City Council and Ningbo municipal government.

The two weeks’ time in Shanghai and Ningbo brought an opportunity for headmasters to carry on a fieldwork on Chinese basic education models, meanwhile have a bite of Chinese culture. Nottingham Confucius Institute China Ningbo Branch accompanied the trip in Ningbo. During the visit, headmasters visited the unique cultural attractions of Ningbo, such as Tianyi Pavilion and Nantang Old Street. Many headmasters pinned launching a Confucius Classroom in their respective schools to the wish list.

Moreover, headmasters’ participation in the Sino-British Basic Education Cooperation Exchange Meeting organized by the Ningbo Education Bureau and the Ningbo Foreign Affairs Office enabled a sister-ship between 10 pairs of primary/high schools in Nottingham and Ningbo. This moment was documented by Ningbo TV and many other news agencies.
