Offers from top universities and renowned companies in the USA
Despite a competitive jobs market in 2013 Zhang Qingwen, who studied BA Finance, Accounting and Management, received two job offers from companies in the United States of America (USA), along with four scholarship offers from American universities, all while still a student at UNNC.
The job offers – from Platt Electric Supply and its partner Forest City Trading Group - came as a result of a successful internship she had completed with Platt, a giant in the electric supply industry, with branches all over the world. Qingwen was offered the internship while she was on exchange at the University of Nottingham’s UK campus.
While on the internship in the USA, Qingwen continued learning and studying, passing TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) and The FRM (Financial Risk Manager) Programme during that time. She also visited universities across the country to find out more about the courses they offered.
She is now studying at the University of Michigan, where she is a teaching assistant. She plans to be an entrepreneur in China after gaining work experience in the USA.
