Creating opportunities for UNNC students
One of our first graduates, Ding Cheng, who studied BA International Business Management, has achieved a lot in the decade since he started here and has been heavily involved in the establishment of The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) alumni community. He has given a lot of his time and effort to supporting current students and alumni development, including hosting career and networking events. He has even secured jobs for three UNNC alumni at his company’s London and Beijing offices.
While studying he founded the WEAVER Organisation, one of largest practical student societies at UNNC, as well as building the first overseas College Chapter for the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), as part of his vision to promote social entrepreneurship in China.
After graduating, Cheng joined the KPMG Advisory Shanghai office as a corporate financial professional before moving to London to work as a management. A year later, due to his outstanding performance, he was sponsored to study at London Business School where he successfully obtained a masters in finance.
His passion for promoting best asset management practices in China has been supported by various leading Chinese state-owned companies, including China National Offshore Oil Company (CNOOC), and his achievements have been recognised with numerous awards in China.
Cheng was one of the first ever graduates of UNNC in 2008 and is highly respected among today’s students as well as the alumni community. In 2013 won the UNNC Alumnus of the Year Award.
