According to the 2013-2019 UTD24 publication statistics of Chinese universities, Nottingham University Business School China (NUBS China) ranked 42nd among universities in China with 5 articles published in the UTD24 list, and one more article published in 2020.

NUBS China has established an international and dynamic research platform. Supported by funding from a broad range of resources, such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Zhejiang Natural Science Foundation and the Commission Project by Ningbo Development Planning Research Institute, 2019-20 saw a total of over RMB 6 million of new awards to the faculty.

NUBS China has created 5 Research Groups, providing leadership and support for research areas covering Digital Economy, Foreign Direct Investment, Chinese Financial Markets, Supply Chain Sustainability and Innovation Management, and Sustainable Entrepreneurship. These research groups enable our researchers to engage and showcase our diverse research to industries externally and beyond.

Our world-class research also drives high-quality teaching. In the 2019-20 academic year, the Finance, Accounting and Management degree programme was awarded the recognition of National Level ‘First Class’ Programme. Furthermore, three modules were awarded as the Provincial Level First Class Undergraduate Modules, and they are Marketing Management, Introduction to Management Science for Business Decisions, and Introduction to Data Science: Big Data Analytics in Business.

ShanghaiRanking for Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) also recently announced its 2020 Global Subject (Discipline) Ranking. Two academic subjects provided by NUBS China, namely Business Administration and Management, ranked 13th and 29th among China’s domestic universities, and both subjects ranked in the top 200-300 universities in the world.

These achievements have a significant impact on improving the research and teaching profiles of NUBS China. More opportunities are created for researchers in our faculty to collaborate with leading national and international scholars, allowing cutting-edge research that may shed light on new theories and methodologies. It is also good news for our students, especially when they are pursuing further education overseas or applying for jobs. As one parent representative of the 2020 UNNC (University of Nottingham Ningbo China) graduates pointed out, the core skills of independent thinking and problem-solving developed at UNNC will benefit the students for the rest of their lives.

At NUBS China, we have over 100 academics from nearly 30 countries and regions around the world, who have contributed to our research portfolio and track record of successful innovations. Building on a foundation of diverse research projects/activities, research at NUBS China has an increasing impact on the academic community and society at large.
