Research summary

Marina’s primary research interests are in the area of International Macroeconomics,  Regional Economics, Economic growth and productivity, Applied Econometrics, and Banking crises. In her research, Marina uses nonlinear models, clustering tools, panel data analysis, and dynamic-factor models. Her papers have been published in the Journal of Money Credit and Banking, Journal of Applied Econometrics, International Journal of Finance and Economics, Empirical Economics, Cyprus Economics Review, and Russian Journal of Economic Theory.

PhD Supervision

Marina is eager to supervise PhD students in various topics, but her speciality is in International Macro. She is especially interested in the following areas: Belt and Road Initiative and Market Integration, Fintech and Bank Risk, SMEs Lending, Effect of E-commerce on Chinese Economy, and Productivity Analysis.

Personal profile

Dr Marina Glushenkova joined the University of Nottingham Ningbo in October 2016. She completed her PhD in Economics at the University of Cyprus in June 2016. Before that, she obtained a Master Degree in Economic Analysis at the University of Cyprus and did her undergraduate study in International Economics at the Ural Federal University. Marina’s research interests lie in the field of international macroeconomics and international finance.

She has been a teaching assistant for the courses Statistics and Econometrics, Research Methodology in Applied Economics, and International Economics at the University of Cyprus. She was also invited to give lectures on Macroeconomics and Economic Growth Theory for Master students at the Ural Federal University (Russia).
