Nottingham University Business School China (NUBS China) is delighted to invite you to the public lecture on ‘A New Era in China-Italy Political and Economic Relations’ presented by Professor Michele Geraci, Professor of Practice in Economic Policy, NUBS China, Former Undersecretary of State at the Italian Ministry of Economic Development and Mr Carlo D’Andrea, National Vice President of the European Chamber of Commerce in China and Chairman of the Shanghai Chapter, Founder and Managing Partner of D’Andrea & Partners Legal Counsel.

About the Speakers:

Professor Michele Geraci is Former Undersecretary of State at the Italian Ministry of Economic Development, who was responsible for International Trade and Investment. Previously, he lived in China for ten years, where he worked as a macroeconomist and professor of finance in various universities. Before moving to China in 2008, Professor Geraci lived in London for 20 years working as a Telecom Investment Banker in the City of London and as well as an Electronics Engineer. In 2018, he was one of the nominees for Italy’s Prime Minister, before taking the role of under-secretary. He is a frequent guest on major international media platforms and is a regular speaker at international conferences. Italian President Mattarella awarded him an Italian Knighthood honour. He holds an MBA from MIT Sloan and speaks 5 languages, including Chinese.

Mr Carlo D’Andrea graduated in Law from the University of Teramo (Italy). Subsequently, he obtained his Masters at LUISS University in Rome and a Diploma in Chinese Studies at Nanjing Normal University. He is a member of the Italian Bar Association. Mr D’Andrea arrived in China in 2005 and is fluent in Italian, English, Chinese and Spanish. He mainly deals with cross-border mergers and acquisitions, international investment and industrial property protection. He is the acting National Vice President of the European Chamber of Commerce in China and Chairman of the Shanghai Chapter. A Professor of International Organizations in the Faculty of Law of LUISS University, Mr D’Andrea regularly participates in international events and conferences as a speaker on business matters and has authored books on investments.
