Four engineering undergraduate programmes in FOSE were awarded Provincial Level ‘First Class’ Programmes

The Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China has announced the results of 2019 National and Provincial ‘First Class’ Programmes. Four engineering undergraduate programmes (BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering, BEng (Hons) Chemical Engineering, BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering, BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering) were awarded Provincial Level ‘First Class’ Programmes.


Faculty of Science and Engineering (FoSE) provides the world class research-led science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education. Our reputation for excellence in science and engineering rests on the highest standards of teaching and learning, underpinned by internationally leading research. We recruit top quality students who are taught by experienced academics who are leaders in their field. Their expertise is reflected in our teaching and brings a unique advantage to our undergraduate degrees which are respected and valued by industry and commerce worldwide. All our undergraduate engineering programme (except for the newly opened BEng (Hons) Aerospace Engineering) are internationally accredited. The Aerospace Engineering programme will also receive the international accreditation when having the first cohort of graduates.

The More Electric Aircraft Technology Laboratory and the Laboratory for Carbonaceous Waste Processing and Process Intensification Research were awarded Zhejiang Provincial Key Laboratory. Worth to mention, according to the 2019 ESI report, the engineering discipline in the UNNC ranks internationally top 1%, which further witnesses the progress we have achieved in the research strength.
