Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies Ningbo (IAPS Ningbo)

The Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies| Ningbo  (IAPS Ningbo) is the Chinese branch of IAPS Nottingham. IAPS Ningbo, originated by Dr Ming-Yeh T. Rawnsley, currently headed by Dr Joseph Askew, was launched in September 2005 when the University of Nottingham Ningbo, China formally opened.

The development of IAPS is characterised by a broad-base of research that is often inter-disciplinary. This can range from major projects on democratisation in Asia to Asian film festivals; from Chinese business and geography, to Japanese telecommunications and social movement in Southeast Asia. IAPS is a major focus of international studies at University of Nottingham and promotes large-scale co-operation in research, postgraduate teaching, international conferences, and resource development.  IAPS Ningbo maintains the same characteristics of IAPS Nottingham, and aims to foster a research culture and cultivate a wide-range of multi-disciplinary research projects relevant to the Asia-Pacific region at the University of Nottingham Ningbo, China.
