Advanced manufacturing is an advantage area for the University of Nottingham and will be one of the most potential discipline in UNNC given the golden opportunity that Ningbo City identified as China Manufacturing 2020  trial base.

Ningbo City has recently been granted the first city in China to pilot and demonstrate China Manufacturing 2025. This has boosted significantly the R&D investment on advanced manufacturing technologies locally and nationally in China.

The successful candidate will be expected to be either an established leader with international reputation in the research area of advanced manufacturing or associated topics, or an earlier researcher who has clearly demonstrated potential to become an outstanding research leader. The candidate will contribute to teaching and curriculum development for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and to supervise undergraduate and PG students.

Salary is negotiable depending on skills and experience and will be within the professorial range. In addition, an attractive package including accommodation allowance, travel allowance and insurance will be provided for international appointments.

The post will initially be offered on a fixed term contract with the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China for a period of up to five years starting 1 March 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter. This contract may be extended on an indefinite basis by mutual agreement.
